HOURS

Monday - Sunday: 6:30am - 9:30pm

The Spa at Turnberry features a fully equipped Fitness Centre, providing guests with a wellness sanctuary that enables them to maintain a fitness regime during their stay with us.

With a monthly and annual Spa Membership also available, member benefits include a full induction and unlimited access to our state-of-the-art Fitness Studio, personal fitness evaluation, complimentary access to fitness and pool classes and more. 

The Fitness Studio is complete with top of the range equipment, including: Treadmills, Elliptical Cross-Trainers, Bikes, PowerMill Climber, Arc Trainer, Rowing machine and Strength training machines, free weights and a SYNRGY 360.

Personal Fitness Evaluation
This fitness evaluation is recommended prior to commencing an exercise program in order to establish your level of fitness. The evaluation comprises of heart rate, blood pressure, body fat percentage, flexibility and an aerobic treadmill test. From this data we are able to produce a detailed analysis of your present fitness level and design a personalised program relevant to your evaluation results.

PILATES

With a focus on postural correctness and increasing functionality, Pilates revolves around a series of core movements. Predominantly mat based with some standing work on occasion. 


HIIT AND ABS

High Intensity Interval Training followed by a short blast of work for your abdominal muscles. Sections of work are short and high effort followed by a brief rest period.

FLEX AND CORE

This class involves full body stretching and moves to strengthen the core muscles. 

AQUA
1 HOUR

Performed in the pool. Aqua involves an aerobic curve utilizing routines of movements followed by resistance work with the aid of floats. 

CIRCUITS
1 HOUR

Following a set pattern of exercises, work around the room and complete each movement for an allotted period of time. Full body workout suitable for all ability levels.


GYM CIRCUIT

Working around the equipment in the gym, carry out the exercise for the allotted period of time before a quick rest. Full body, suitable for all fitness levels. 

OPEN GYM

An allocated time period where I will be present on the gym floor. The time is for members and hotel guests alike to ask for advice, guidance etc. We can also offer basic fitness tests at this time.

RECOVER

A loosely choreographed class centered around mobility and flexibility. Perfect for unlocking stiff joints and easing tense muscles. The first ten minutes of the class follows gentle movements and breathing patterns to relax the body and mind.


RECOVER SEATED

As outlined above but at a slower pace for those with limited mobility or just starting out.

WALKING GROUP

Accompany the instructor on a gentle stroll through the grounds of Turnberry. This activity will run through the summer, weather permitting.


SUNRISE

An outdoor (weather permitting) class that includes gentle stretching, breathing and postures to balance the mind and body. 

WALKING GROUP

A medium to intense workout that focuses on the main muscle groups used for golf. This class takes part in the gym and includes cardio, body weight and resistance exercises.


GOLF FIT MOBILITY

A slower paced and aims to open the joints required for golf along with lengthening and releasing the muscles.
